Thin West Lake is characterized by "thinness", the lake is sometimes wide and sometimes narrow, the woods on both sides are sparse, and the garden architecture is simple and colorful.

It is a private garden built by He Zhidao during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, a masterpiece of late Qing Dynasty garden architecture.

The garden was built during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty and is divided into the northern bamboo viewing area, the central garden and the southern residential area.
The name of the garden is based on the Chinese character "个", which is half of the word "竹", and corresponds to the various colors of bamboos in the garden.
The essence of the garden lies in the art of rockery with the four seasons as the theme, and the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter have their own characteristics.
